Meta lowers the age threshold: open to children aged 10 and above to use Quest VR head display
CTOnews.com, June 17, Meta announced a reduction in the minimum age requirement for Quest 2 VR 3 head display, saying that from later this year, children aged 10 and over will be able to set up their own accounts and use Meta's VR head display.
Meta said that the created children's accounts are still under the control of parents, can control which games and apps children download from app stores, and can restrict children's continued use of their accounts at any time.
Parents can also set screen time limits for their children and monitor VR content by projecting it onto a mobile phone or TV screen. Meta also made it clear that it will not push ads to children's accounts, but will recommend apps that are appropriate for that age group.
CTOnews.com Note: Meta says Horizon Worlds will not be open to pre-adolescent children, still over the age of 13 in the United States and Canada, and over 18 in Europe.
