CTOnews.com Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) today announced that it has partnered with supply chain management and risk analytics firm Everstream Analytics to embed the latter's AI technology into JLR's systems to help circumvent possible future global supply issues.

Jaguar Land Rover says new AI technology will enable it to monitor supply chains in real time and protect production of its current models and next-generation electric vehicles (EVs). Everstream's technology has enabled it to avoid the risk of vehicle delivery disruptions at global cargo ports.

Barbara Bergmeier, Jaguar Land Rover's executive director of industrial operations, said in a statement: "By partnering with Everstream Analytics, we are leveraging the power of AI to proactively manage risk before production is disrupted. The technology uses a combination of AI, predictive analytics, machine learning and human intuition to annotate emerging risk events on the world map, such as natural disasters, strikes, data breaches and export problems.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Jaguar Land Rover, a subsidiary of India's Tata Motors, was particularly hard hit by the global shortage of semiconductor chips and was forced to cut production of certain models. But the company has returned to profitability in the past two quarters, with revenue in the latest quarter accounting for two-thirds of Tata's total revenue.
