CTOnews.com, June 20 (Xinhua) Apple HomePod supports third-party services such as Pandora,Deezer and iHeartRadio in addition to its own Apple Music, but there is not a large list of HomePod-compatible applications.

Apple plans to change this in iOS 17 to allow third-party multimedia applications to play multimedia from iPhone or iPad on HomePod by calling Siri.

Apple said at the WWDC 2023 developer conference that even if third-party applications do not have native support for HomePod, they can call SiriKit API to allow users to play HomePod through Siri.

CTOnews.com quoted Apple's official report as saying that after HomePod processes the request, SiriKit will send the request to iPhone or iPad,Siri will launch your application and transmit it to HomePod via AirPlay.
