It is reported that Google is developing YouTube Playables cloud game service.
CTOnews.com June 26 news, January 19 this year, Google officially shut down its Stadia cloud game service. The service, launched in November 2019, is designed to support cloud-based games on a variety of devices, including PC, Chromebook, Mac, iPhone and iPad.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Google appears to be preparing to launch a new cloud gaming service, but this time through YouTube as a sharing platform.
Tu Yuan Pexels the report quoted an internal Google email. According to reports, the service, called YouTube Playables, allows users to stream games on mobile devices and PC through the video platform, similar to Xbox Cloud Gaming or Nvidia GeForce Now.
Foreign media believe that if the company has an idea to re-enable Stadia code, then the service is likely to support Chrome browsers or Chromecast devices. However, it is not clear what types of games YouTube Playables will bring.
Unlike the full games offered by Google Stadia, the service seems to offer "small-scale, customizable" games that may be similar to Discord Activities, which can be played over voice calls.
We don't know Playables's business model yet, but people in the industry think it is possible to add it to the subscription service of YouTube Premium members. Of course, when you open the YouTube Premium service, you can also enjoy YouTube Music members and enjoy ad-free viewing service, with a subscription price of only $11.99 for a regular package and $17.99 for a family package.
As far as known intelligence is concerned, YouTube Playables should not have much impact on cloud gaming, but if Google can provide a fun-filled cloud gaming service, like Apple's Arcade, it may make a comeback after the failure of Stadia.
