▲ source: Mat PiscatellaPiscatella said that the digital version of the game will explode within 2 years. By 2028, most XBOX and PS games will be digital. CTOnews.com noted that Piscatell also said that Nintendo may be the only game maker to retain physical cassettes because the pace will not be too aggressive. But he also said that Nintendo's strategy is always unexpected, so there are variables.

▲ source: naughty dog Piscatella believes that the main reason why physical disks are replaced by digital downloads is that the game capacity is growing and ordinary CDs are difficult to accommodate. For example, the physical CD-ROM of call of Duty: modern Warfare 2 2022 contains only 72 MB of data, and you still need to download 125 GB after putting it into the CD. In addition, the circulation of second-hand games also affects the profits of game manufacturers.
