It is reported that Apple's AirPods Pro charging box will switch to USB-C interface, and the hearing test function is under development.
CTOnews.com July 2, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman reported in his latest issue of Power On newsletter, Apple is preparing to launch a USB-C charging case for AirPods Pro, probably this fall with the iPhone 15 series, which will also switch from Lightning port to USB-C port.
Gurman also revealed that in addition to some of the AirPods features Apple announced on WWDC in iOS 17, Apple is also testing a new hearing test feature that will play different tones and sounds in the user's ears and detect possible hearing problems based on the user's reaction. The purpose of this feature is to help users screen for hearing problems, just as Apple Watch's ECG app can detect heart problems.
Gurman said that in the long run, Apple also plans to add more health sensors to AirPods hardware, such as measuring body temperature through the ear canal. CTOnews.com previously reported that Apple has announced that AirPods Pro will get an adaptive audio feature later this year, which can dynamically switch between transparent mode and noise reduction mode according to the sound of the environment.
