Apple store uses iPhone 14 as a POS to collect money.

It is reported that Apple employees use the iPhone as a PoS machine to help users complete the payment. The system is called Isaac and is made up of iPhone and other hardware.

For customers, changing the payment equipment has no impact, it is the employees who are affected. Some Apple store employees have complained that iPhone Xs-based collection devices slow down and their batteries decay after a long time, so they take out the iPhone and replace it 2-3 times a day. The iPhone 14 alleviates the problem because it carries faster chips and better battery life.

IPhone Xs was launched in 2018 and is now 2023, and iPhone Xs and the latest iOS are no longer the best partners.

Apple launched the "Tap to Pay" feature last year, and some employees began to use it to make payments. Apple may completely eliminate Isaac in the future, but it can't give up completely now, because some physical cards don't support "Tap to Pay."
