It is reported that Alibaba is considering Youku Tudou's strategic option, and the plan is yet to be determined.
Beijing time on the afternoon of July 4, according to reports, people familiar with the matter revealed that as Alibaba Group continues to further promote its restructuring plan, the company is exploring possible options for its video entertainment assets.
The company is conducting a strategic review of video streaming platforms Youku and Tudou, the source said. One option to consider is to inject these assets into Alibaba Pictures to expand the business scope of the Hong Kong-listed company.
The relevant deliberations are still at an early stage. Alibaba may also explore other options, including a separate listing of the video platform, or it may not press ahead with any deal.
Representatives of Alibaba and Alibaba Pictures did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
