CTOnews.com, July 4 (Xinhua)-- although smartwatches seem to be the only popular smart wearers on the market, Samsung is still exploring the possibility of developing other types of smart accessories.

Samsung recently applied for three new trademarks in the UK intellectual property Office (UKIPO), namely "Samsung Circle", "Samsung Index" and "Samsung Insight". These trademarks may be related to smart wearable devices or accessories, such as smart rings, smart bracelets, smart glasses or VR controllers.

The three trademarks applied for by Samsung belong to "Nice Classification 9", a category that covers "wearable computers, smart rings, smartwatches, smartphones" and other products. However, these trademark applications and classifications themselves do not determine the specific nature of these devices or even prove whether they really exist. This information is too vague to accurately indicate the shape and function of these devices.

CTOnews.com noted that Samsung had previously won the "Galaxy Glasses" and "Galaxy Ring" trademarks, strongly suggesting that the company is developing a smart glasses and a smart ring. It is not clear whether these previous trademarks are related to "Samsung Circle", "Samsung Index" and "Samsung Insight". It is worth noting, however, that the company has confirmed that it is currently working on a new XR (mixed reality) head display. So it's also possible that Samsung is developing smart accessories to provide XR users with more new ways to interact with VR and AR objects.

Of course, it is also possible that Samsung applied for these trademarks just to prevent other companies from using these names.
