Twitter competitor Threads page preview released, the news said that the app will not be launched in the European Union

CTOnews.com July 5 news, Meta has previously issued a preview that the iOS version of Twitter replacement Threads will be officially released tomorrow (July 6), and a countdown timer has been launched on the web side.

Yesterday, Meta CEO Zuckerberg first posted a Threads post on the web side, allowing the public to see a preview of the effect of his web version. Zuckerberg sent only one sentence: "Let's get started. Welcome to Threads."

At present, ordinary users are not able to reply or like this post, but according to 9To5Mac, about 3000 people have been granted early access, so the content has received more than 300 responses and 1000 likes. On the whole, the web-side design of Threads is very simple and modern.

According to Meta, Threads can be seen as a textual branch of Instagram, so users can log in to Threads directly through their existing Instagram account.

However, according to the Irish Independent, Meta wants to be able to import personal data from Instagram apps in order to place personalized ads in Threads apps, which is not in line with existing EU privacy laws. Therefore, Meta will not launch Threads in Ireland or the European Union for the foreseeable future.

It is worth noting that since the UK has left the EU, the UK is no longer subject to EU privacy laws, and Threads has also confirmed that it will be launched in the UK.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Meta had planned to launch Threads in mid-July, but due to the recent Twitter turmoil, Meta decided to seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to advance the launch date of Threads to July 6.
