2488.4 kilometers, Eco-Runner XIII sets a new world record for hydrogen-fueled vehicles

CTOnews.com, July 6 (Xinhua)-- A team of students at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands recently built a hydrogen-fueled car called Eco-Runner XIII, which traveled 2488.4 kilometers (1546.2 miles) per kilogram of hydrogen fuel. the team drove 71.5 hours in two-hour shifts and only stopped to change people, setting a new Guinness World record.

CTOnews.com note: the previous record for hydrogen-fueled vehicles was set by ARM Engineering's electric Renault Zoe in May last year, at 2056 kilometers (1277 miles).

This time, the 13th generation Eco-Runner model was tested, and the first generation can be traced back to 2005. The team unveiled the final design of the Eco-Runner XIII in May, claiming to be the most efficient hydrogen-fueled car.

Eco-Runner XIII system push rod, car body and suspension beam and other components are made of carbon fiber, and pay attention to the energy loss in the process of converting hydrogen into electricity, using a new hydrogen fuel cell.
