Report: more than half of Samsung TVs this year do not use their own screens, most of them come from Chinese manufacturers
CTOnews.com, July 6, according to South Korean media "The Elec", more than half of Samsung Electronics' televisions are made with panels from other manufacturers. Samsung electronics panel inventory shows that most of them come from four Chinese panel manufacturers-Huaxing Optoelectronics, Huike, Jingdong and Xianyang Rainbow Optoelectronics, which provided nearly 60% of the panels for Samsung TVs in 2023.
The reason for this is that Samsung display (Samsung Display) panel production has fallen sharply, forcing Samsung Electronics to purchase panels from other sources. Samsung display is another company under the Samsung Group, which is responsible for the R & D and production of panels. It is reported that Samsung will produce only 38 million LCD TV panels in 2023, up slightly from 34.2 million last year, but still well below the 47.8 million in 2021.
CTOnews.com noted that Samsung monitors have been working on the production of QD-OLED panels, one of the most advanced display technologies used in high-end TV models such as Samsung S95C OLED and Sony A95K OLED.
