Japanese low-carbon vending machines are put into operation, which can "eat" 60 kilograms of carbon dioxide every year.
CTOnews.com July 6 news, Asahi soft drinks today officially launched in Japan "carbon dioxide eating vending machine" (this is the official name). Typically, the power consumed by vending machines produces 300 kilograms of carbon dioxide a year, while this vending machine can absorb 60 kilograms of carbon dioxide a year, thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 20 percent.
▲ Touyuan Asahi soft drinks official website this vending machine was first launched in Osaka at the end of last month, with a box-shaped adsorption device containing specially processed natural mineral powder, which can effectively absorb carbon dioxide in the air. It is worth mentioning that the adsorption device itself is also made of water-absorbing materials.
This vending machine needs to be replaced twice a month. Used materials will not be wasted, and by mixing these waste powders with fertilizers, carbon dioxide can be stored in the soil to promote plant growth and can also be used to make concrete materials.
CTOnews.com learned from officials that Asahi soft drinks plan to install 30 such vending machines across the country by the end of this year, and verify differences in carbon dioxide absorption capacity and absorption rates in different locations. The company plans to develop a vending machine that is truly "carbon neutral" by 2030, where carbon dioxide adsorption is equal to carbon dioxide emissions.
