Curbing website abuse notification, Microsoft Edge browser introduces new features

CTOnews.com, July 7 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft said that after analyzing dozens of types of abuse notifications, it has introduced new features in its Edge browser to help users clean up these abuse notifications.

Microsoft says it has set up a blacklist of websites that like to send spam notifications to visitors, removing their notification permissions so that they cannot harass users.

Microsoft said it had quietly tested the new feature when it released Edge 113 in May and found a significant reduction in the number of events in which users reported notification problems.

Users visit sites that are not on Microsoft's blacklist and are still allowed to push notifications with the user's permission. If users visit a website regularly, they can also set up their own settings to continue to receive notifications from the site.
