CTOnews.com, July 8 (Xinhua)-- Apple is in talks with display panel suppliers about collapsible MacBook models, which is expected to boost the sluggish display market, according to BusinessKorea.

According to industry insiders, Apple is currently in talks with suppliers to launch a foldable MacBook model, and plans to unveil the new model in 2025 and launch it in 2026.

South Korean companies are also said to be coordinating Apple's plans to develop and produce matching OLED panels to adapt to the IT device folding panel market.

Among them, Samsung has decided to invest 4.1 trillion won (currently about 22.714 billion yuan) to produce 8.6 generation OLED panels from 2025 to 2026, while LG Display is also investing in medium-sized OLED panels, including products for tablets.

Tuyuan Pexels says that although it is more difficult to implement, in the display industry, the larger the size, the higher the profit, so orders for laptops are more attractive than orders for foldable screens for smartphones.
