CTOnews.com July 9 news, according to South Korean media The Elec reported that LG Display launched the eighth generation of OLED panel mass production time is one year later than Samsung Display.

Photo Source: at a seminar held by LG Display in Seoul, South Korea on Wednesday, Choong Hoon Yi, CEO of analytics firm UBI Research, said that LG Display would supply the 8th generation OLED panel in 2026, still winning an order from Apple.

Yi says Samsung Display is currently the only display panel manufacturer that has invested in the production of the eighth-generation OLED; LG Display and BOE have not yet followed suit.

Yi said that the main reason for LG Display is that the existing LCD production line to OLED production line encountered obstacles, leading to the delay of the launch time of the eighth generation OLED.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Samsung Display said in April this year that it is expected to start production of the eighth generation OLED panel after 2-3 years, and it is expected to wait until 2025 at the latest.
