CTOnews.com, July 11 (Xinhua)-- Salesforce, a maker of customer relationship management software, will raise prices for some of its cloud computing and marketing tools by an average of 9% from August, according to Reuters.

This is the first time the company has adjusted prices in seven years, and Salesforce and several other technology companies are increasing spending, including the use of generative artificial intelligence in their products and services. According to Salesforce, over the past seven years, the company has spent more than $20 billion on research and development (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 144.6 billion yuan), adding new features to its software, including generative AI tools.

Salesforce is a software company headquartered in the United States, mainly providing cloud computing services to help enterprises manage customer, sales, marketing and other aspects of business. Salesforce said the new price will apply to old and new customers. The company's shares rose about 4% in pre-market trading on Tuesday.
