CTOnews.com July 13, according to E Ink news, the smart stop sign on the main road in Sydney, Australia is now online, becoming the world's first commercial Kaleido 3 Outdoor color electronic paper sign.

According to Tuyuan E Iink, the traffic sign board, which is operated by the US company Mercury Innovation as the system integrator, is equipped with a solar panel in addition to a 13.3inch electrophoretic electronic paper screen (EPD). Equipped with changeable parking signs and solar charging, the sign demonstrates the possibility of combining digital transformation with net zero carbon emissions when managing on-street parking in Sydney.

As previously reported by CTOnews.com, Kaleido 3 Outdoor technology was released in April this year. It is based on color printed electronic paper technology (Print Color ePaper technology) and uses RGB color display principle to make the black and white electronic paper film show a warm color display performance. Its operating temperature ranges from-15 °C to 65 °C, and it can operate normally without expensive energy-intensive heating or cooling equipment in cold or hot climates, reducing additional power consumption. The reflective nature of E Ink Kaleido 3 means that outdoors, the stronger the sun, the more clearly the image can be displayed, as opposed to the self-luminous LCD screen, and at night, the front light is designed to assist the display.
