Microsoft executive: Bing chat does not split the traffic, but increases the publisher's traffic
CTOnews.com July 14, Microsoft Bing vice president of project management Jordi Ribas recently told Fortune about the impact of Bing chat (Bing Chat) robots and website traffic, and talked about the future of Bing search and so on.
Generative AI is making waves in the whole digital world, many enterprises have embraced and introduced AI chat robot, and the existing data show that the launch of Microsoft Bing chat has significantly changed the information retrieval process of netizens.
Ribas stressed that Bing chat not only did not divert traffic to content publishers, but promoted increased traffic.
CTOnews.com quoted Ribas as saying that instead of preventing users from accessing external sites, Bing chatbot promotes user participation. Increased connectivity between users and search engines has led to a surge in traffic to various online platforms. This finding challenges the initial view of the potential negative impact of the general AI chat robot on website traffic.
Ribas shares said that since Bing integrated OpenAI's GPT technology into its search engine, overall traffic to Bing recommendation sites has increased.
