CTOnews.com July 14 news, Microsoft recently for Canary channel Windows Insider members, released Win11 Build 25905 preview update, one of the highlights is to allow users to uninstall Cortana voice assistant more easily.

Microsoft previously announced that Cortana Voice Assistant Windows standalone applications will stop supporting at the end of the year, temporarily not affecting other platform versions, such as Outlook mobile version, Teams mobile version and so on.

As early as 2014, Microsoft began testing Cortana virtual assistant, the name comes from the game Halo series of artificial intelligence, and then Cortana pre-installed in Windows Phone, Windows 10 system.

However, as Microsoft's strategy changed, Cortana gradually untied itself from personal user computers and became part of the Microsoft 365 office scene.

CTOnews.com has attached three ways to remove Cortana in Win11:

Stable Win11 systems (also available for Win 10): Start Terminal as an administrator and type "winget uninstall Cortana" command (without double quotes). After Enter, type Y Enter when prompted.

In Win11 Build 25905 Preview: Open the Start menu, find and right-click Cortana in the list of all apps, then select Uninstall and confirm.

In other Canary channel Win11 versions: Launch Settings application and go to Installed Applications> Applications, find Cortana and click the button with three dots next to it, select Uninstall and confirm.
