CTOnews.com July 14, the Linux Mint 21.2 ISO image codenamed "Victoria" is officially available for download today. The new version is based on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and is available in Cinnamon 5.8, Xfce 4.18 and MATE 1.26 desktop versions.

The Linux Mint 21.2 ISO image was tested on June 21, 2023, during which developers collected and fixed many problems with user feedback.

Linux Mint 21.2 is based on the long-supported Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, and on the kernel side is also based on the long-supported Linux Kernel 5.15.

Xfce and MATE desktop environments still retain Xfce 4.18 and MATE 1.26 desktop environments, but the Cinnamon version is upgraded to version 5.8.

This update optimizes touchpad and touchscreen gestures, introduces global dark mode for GTK4 / libadwaita applications, improves compatibility with Flatpak applications, supports a variety of new theme colors, accelerates Nemo file manager, and so on.

Linux Mint 21.2 also significantly improves the login manager, with better keyboard navigation, support for Wayland sessions, support for LXQt / Pademelon badges, configurable layout of onboard screen keyboards, scrollable session lists, and more.
