Japanese display company JDI signs intellectual property cross-license agreement with Huaxing Optoelectronics

CTOnews.com, July 14, according to the Nikkei Chinese website, Japan display Company (JDI) announced yesterday that it has signed a cross-licensing agreement with China Star Optoelectronics (CSOT), a subsidiary of China's TCL Technology Group, for the mutual use of intellectual property rights. JDI has technical advantages in the visual angle of LCD panels.

Huaxing Optoelectronics has an outstanding performance in the large-scale liquid crystal panel business, with an overall share of several percentage points in the liquid crystal industry. JDI will receive authorized income from Huaxing Optoelectronics.

In addition to this agreement with Huaxing Optoelectronics, JDI also reached an agreement with Qunchuang Optoelectronics, a manufacturer of liquid crystal panels in Taiwan, on intellectual property rights. JDI said it was reviewing and evaluating the impact of licensing agreements on earnings for fiscal year 2024.
