Delivery reached a record in the second quarter, and it was reported that the bonus of Tesla's Shanghai factory staff increased significantly.

CTOnews.com, July 14, according to Reuters, several employees of Tesla's Shanghai factory said their performance bonuses increased significantly in the latest quarter.

Three employees of ▲ Tuyuan Pixabay told reporters that they received a bonus of 1.5 times their monthly base salary in the second quarter. Workers say this is higher than the quarterly bonuses that most employees used to receive based on average performance (1.2 times the monthly base salary).

Employees also said that several of their colleagues received a similar bonus increase, but it was not possible to determine exactly how many. The plant currently produces Model 3 and Model Y and employs about 20000 workers.

One employee said his performance bonus doubled this month from the first quarter, when it was cut to 0.785 times his monthly salary.

Employees said they were not told why the bonus was increased or whether it was related to previous complaints. In April, several employees of Tesla's Shanghai factory complained about bonus cuts on social media and complained directly to the company's founder, Musk, who said he would investigate.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Tesla delivered 247000 Chinese-made electric vehicles in the second quarter, the highest level since the opening of Tesla's Shanghai plant. Musk visited the Shanghai factory late at night in May this year. In his speech, he thanked his employees for their "amazing work" to overcome difficulties and challenges.
