CTOnews.com July 15 news, more than 30 students from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU / e) in the Netherlands formed a team to develop a battery designed specifically for racing cars, which can be charged for 4 minutes and lasts 250 kilometers.

Ten TU / e students formed the InMotion team to build a technologically advanced electric race car for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The InMotion team then built several prototypes, the latest of which is the Revolution prototype, which can charge 80% in 12 minutes.

The InMotion team, which has grown to more than 30 people, is exploring faster battery charging solutions that put coolant between each battery to maximize battery heat removal.

The team installed a 29.2 kWh battery pack in the LMP 3 prototype car, which has a range of about 250 km (CTOnews.com note: 155 miles) after four minutes of charging each time.

The battery pack is rated for a fast charge of 322 kilowatts, which InMotion crews completed in 3 minutes and 56 seconds, hoping to pave the way for ultra-fast pit stops.
