CTOnews.com, July 16 (Xinhua) A teenager accused of hacking and blackmailing a number of companies, including Uber, Nvidia and GTA 6 developer Rockstar, has been found unfit to stand trial, Reuters reported.

The 18-year-old teenager, Arion Kurtaj, stole dozens of material from the unreleased Grand Theft Auto 6 as a member of the Lapsus$ hacker group last September and leaked it online.

It is reported that Kurtaj hacked into Rockstar's system and sent a Slack message to all Rockstar employees, threatening to release the game's source code. He is also suspected of 12 counts, including three counts of blackmail, two counts of fraud and six counts of violating the computer abuse Act. He has pleaded guilty to one count of fraud, two counts of violating the computer abuse Act, and breaching bail conditions.

Another 17-year-old was also charged with two counts of blackmail, two counts of fraud and three counts of violating the computer abuse Act, but he was not involved in hacking into Rockstar games. According to Reuters, Kurtaj was assessed by psychiatrists as unfit to stand trial, so the jury will not find him guilty, but will only decide whether he carries out these acts.

CTOnews.com has previously reported that a large number of development materials for Grand Theft Auto 6 were leaked online last September, including more than 90 screenshots and videos. Rockstar later issued a statement admitting to a "cyber breach" that hackers stole early development material for Grand Theft Auto 6. The company said it was "extremely disappointed".
