CTOnews.com, July 16 (Xinhua)-- Apple is developing a new iPad Air tablet (iPad Air 6), which will be launched later this year with an upgrade, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman in its latest Power On newsletter.

Gurman only mentioned that the new iPad Air configuration would be improved, without giving details. Considering that the current iPad Air is already equipped with M1 processor, it is expected that the new model will be equipped with M2 processor, with higher performance and efficiency, and can handle a variety of complex tasks.

But apart from the chip, the new iPad Air may not have many other changes. Goolman said Apple will not make a major upgrade to the iPad series this year, but will wait until next year to launch the M3 iPad Pro with an OLED screen. As a result, the new iPad Air may still use last year's design and 10.9-inch LCD display, and will not support 120Hz ProMotion technology.

In addition, the maximum storage and 8GB memory of the new iPad Air may also remain the same. However, another possible upgrade to the new iPad Air is support for Wi-Fi 6e, which currently only supports 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

On the price side, Gurman gave no details, but given the global situation and Apple's raising the price of the iPad 10 without giving enough upgrades, it is speculated that the new iPad Air may be slightly more expensive than its predecessors.
