Mori Yang and ASTRODESIGN Group announced to join Leica L Kakou Alliance

At the end of September 2018, Sima, Leica and Panasonic jointly announced the formation of the L Kakou Alliance. Now, two new video manufacturers have announced that they have joined the L-card alliance, namely Japanese manufacturer Astro Design and South Korean manufacturer Samyang Optics.

Leica first launched its L bayonet in 2014 and now has 10 cameras and more than 50 lenses in the alliance. Lenses from all different systems can be used on any camera without an adapter ring or any functional restrictions.

According to reports, in order to maximize the diversity of products, L bayonet chooses a diameter of 51.6mm to make it suitable for full-frame cameras and also supports cameras with APS-C sensors.

Thanks to the short flange distance of only 20mm, the distance between the lens and the sensor is shortened and the structure is more compact, which is very helpful for the development of wide-angle lenses.

To ensure that the product can withstand the highest pressure and ensure long service life, the camera bayonet is made of high-quality wear-resistant stainless steel with four flange spacing fixing elements to prevent deflection and ensure an accurate and tight connection between the camera and the lens.

The standard L-bayonet data transfer contact ensures smooth data transfer between lens electronic components and the camera, while ensuring that it is suitable for constantly updated firmware to cope with lens technological innovation, thus realizing the full performance potential of the lens.
