Tencent customer service confirmed that the maximum number of Wechat friends is about 10,000, and the upper limit in 2019 is only 5040.

CTOnews.com, July 17 (Xinhua) recently, some netizens said on social media that the number of their Wechat friends is limited to 10004. In response, Tencent customer service said that the maximum number of Wechat friends is about 10,000, and there is no limit on the number of friends added and added every day, but if you add friends frequently in a short period of time, there may be an exception.

CTOnews.com reported on the limit of Wechat friends as early as 2019. At that time, there was a rumor that Wechat had adjusted its personal number rule to reduce the maximum number of friends to 4800, and that full accounts had to be deleted to add new friends, which Wechat denied.

According to Zhang Xiaolong, the father of Wechat, the maximum number of Wechat friends is 5040. This setting comes from the Republic, one of the important dialogue works of the famous ancient Greek philosopher Plato, in which a perfect and superior city-state is imagined. According to Plato's calculation, the number of ideal kingdoms is 5040.

After four years of development, Wechat's friend limit has been expanded from 5040 to about 10,000. You can post the number of Wechat friends in the comments area to see which friends are close to the Wechat friend limit.
