The original version of Fight for the Dragon was released on July 26, 1973, directed by Robert Golos, with a Douban score of 8.3 and an IMDB score of 7.6. The plot summary is as follows:

Shaolin traitor Mr. Han (Shi Jian) betrays Shaolin and spends money to buy an island to transform it into a private kingdom. Mr. Han and his men make drugs on the island and force women into prostitution. The police want to bring him to justice but there is no evidence. Shaolin disciple Lee (Bruce Lee), whose kungfu has transcended the physical realm, is entrusted by his master and the government to participate in the triennial martial arts competition hosted by Mr. Han. During the tournament, it was the only chance to land on the island and gather evidence. At the same time, Mr. Han's personal bodyguard had killed Li's sister, Li's hated enemy.

Invitations to the tournament were issued, and competitors from all over the world gathered, including debt-ridden Rupert and brave William, who fought injustice, to join Lee on the island for a showdown.
