Musk's starship torch begins mass production: priced at $175 and shipped in early November

CTOnews.com, July 18 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- SpaceX has previously launched a cooking torch (Starship Torch) based on a starship, which allows you to enjoy space exploration when barbecuing food or lighting objects. The torch, which costs $175 (CTOnews.com Note: about 1255 yuan currently), has ended its pre-sale phase and is in mass production, SpaceX said. The company has received a large number of orders and is expected to start shipping in early November.

The starship torch is a scaled-down model of the SpaceX starship's 1RV 200, and its flame can be resized or inflated with a standard butane tank. When not used for barbecue or ignition, you can open the safety lock and display it as a collection. "the Starship Torch has undergone rigorous testing and regulatory approval," SpaceX said on its website.

SpaceX's starship program is still in the testing phase. The company made its first starship test flight on April 20 this year, but the rocket exploded less than four minutes after takeoff. Late last month, SpaceX said that the Ship 25 prototype, which will conduct its second test flight, has completed static ignition tests of six engines at Starbase, an important milestone before the second test flight. Elon Musk, chief executive of SpaceX, predicted in an interview in June that the second test flight would take place this quarter and estimated that there was a 60 per cent chance of reaching orbit.

The Boring Company, another company owned by Musk, once sold flamethrowers to raise money and has sold 20, 000 units so far. Tesla, owned by Musk, has also sold some novel products, such as tequila, belt buckles and Cyber whistles.
