Microsoft said in a press release that Llama 2 is designed to help developers and organizations build generative artificial intelligence tools and experiences.

Azure customers can more easily and securely fine-tune and deploy the Llama 2 model with 7B, 13B, and 70B parameters on the Azure platform, and can be optimized to run locally in Windows.

The combination of Llama 2 model and Azure AI enables developers to use the powerful tools of Azure AI for model training, fine-tuning, reasoning, especially the ability to support AI security.

Microsoft says adding the Llama 2 model to Windows will help make Windows the best place for developers to build artificial intelligence experiences based on customer needs, and unleash their ability to build using world-class tools such as Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), Windows terminals, Microsoft Visual Studio and VS Code.
