CTOnews.com July 19 news, in February this year, the Nikkei News said that Toshiba accepted a takeover offer from a consortium led by JIP (Japan Industrial Partners), with a transaction size of about 2 trillion yen (currently about 103.6 billion yuan). Toshiba's board of directors has approved the offer and submitted a delisting plan to shareholders.

Japanese chipmaker Roma announced at a board meeting on Tuesday that it would provide a total of 300 billion yen (CTOnews.com Note: about 15.54 billion yuan) to the consortium led by JIP for the proposed acquisition of Toshiba, Nikkei reported.

It is said that if the acquisition is successful, the company will invest 100 billion yen in the investment fund led by JIP and will also buy 200 billion yen of preferred shares issued by affiliated companies set up for the acquisition.

Tuyuan Unsplash Bloomberg earlier quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that several big Japanese banks issued loan commitment letters to support the Japan Industrial Partners-led acquisition.

Earlier, sources said that the stake would be provided by a number of Japanese companies, including financial services group Orix, chipmaker Rohm and Postal Bank of Japan.
