Thinner and lighter, Microsoft delivered a revamped HoloLens to the US Army at the end of this month.

CTOnews.com July 20 news, according to foreign technology media Engadget reported that Microsoft will deliver improved HoloLens head display to the US Army this month, the new AR head display can reduce nausea and other adverse reactions.

Microsoft confirmed to the media that the company will deliver improved IVAS (Integrated Vision Enhancement System) 1.2 headsets to the US Army by the end of July this year.

Microsoft says the new headset is "thinner, lighter and more balanced" than previous models and will significantly improve the wearing experience and improve soldier performance.

CTOnews.com quoted Bloomberg as saying that the U.S. Army will split into two test teams at the end of August to test 20 prototype IVAS headsets to evaluate performance in low light environments, reliability and whether they will make soldiers feel uncomfortable.

If the August test is successful, the technology could be in the field within a few years. The Army will award contracts for a second field study between July and September 2024 and could move into operational testing as soon as April 2025, with the Army able to deploy IVAS months later.
