The BYD Song PLUS EV championship model will be exported to the European market and will be named "Seal U".

CTOnews.com July 24 news, according to motor.es and other overseas media today, BYD Song PLUS EV champion version will officially enter the European market, the new car is scheduled to be unveiled during the Munich station, which opens in September. According to pictures of the new car provided by local media, the official name of the car in the European market will be "Seal U".

The name was chosen because the letter U stands for "Utility", which means "multi-function" in Chinese. (CTOnews.com Note: the full name of SUV is Sport Utility Vehicles, which is called sport utility vehicle in Chinese). Judging from the front face of the new car, there are indeed many similarities with the sedan model of the seal.

The appearance and interior of Seal U are consistent with domestic models as a whole, and it also uses a 15.6inch rotating central control screen and DiLink intelligent network connection system. In terms of power, the new car provides a power system in the European market with a maximum power of 160kW, matching 71.8kWh and 87kWh batteries with a range of 420km and 500km respectively under WLTP conditions.

According to BYD's official European Facebook page, the frigate 07 model on sale in China is expected to be sold in the local market in the name of Tang series derivative models. So far, BYD has launched five models in the European market, namely the Han series, Yuan PLUS (ATTO 3) and Tang series, as well as dolphins launched in July and seals launched in September.
