Scientists have invented a new gel to print metal objects in 3D at room temperature.
CTOnews.com, July 25, there are many methods of 3D printing metal objects in the industry, but most of them involve heating, which is not conducive to the production of some thermal electronic products.
A team of researchers from North Carolina State University recently invented a new gel that can print metal objects in 3D at room temperature.
CTOnews.com note: the metal gel needs to be equipped with micron copper particle solution suspended in water, and then add a small amount of gallium indium alloy (EGaIn) and hydrochloric acid, the purpose of adding hydrochloric acid is to adjust the pH value of water to 1.0, so as to remove oxides in EGaIn, thus temporarily turning it into a liquid metal state.
This causes EGaln particles (now pellets) to adhere to stronger copper particles, forming a network of copper particles connected by EGaln bridges, and methylcellulose is added to thicken the mixture.
