CTOnews.com, July 25 (Xinhua)-- Hino Motors, a maker of diesel trucks, buses and other vehicles based in Tokyo, Japan, occupies a leading position in the manufacturing of medium and heavy diesel trucks in Japan, with Toyota holding a 50.1% stake.

Hino is developing electric vehicles jointly with Norwegian partner Hexagon Purus, and will launch heavy commercial electric trucks in the United States in 2024, with a goal of selling 10,000 vehicles in the United States by 2030, according to the Nikkei News.

Hino has a deep relationship with Isuzu in its early days. The two companies were a company before 1942, then became an independent company in 1942 and adopted the name in 1946.

Hino began to focus on the manufacture of commercial vehicles in 1950 and now mainly produces buses, diesel trucks, large tractors and diesel engines. Hino is now the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in Japan, with total revenue of about 1.51 trillion yen last year (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 76.708 billion yuan).
