CTOnews.com July 25, the Wall Street Journal reported that TikTok will launch its e-commerce business in the United States in August to sell Chinese-made goods to consumers and strengthen competition with Shein and Temu.

Similar to Amazon's "Amazon sales" program, TikTok will store and transport goods, including clothing, electronics and kitchen utensils, on behalf of Chinese manufacturers and merchants, according to people familiar with the matter. TikTok will also be responsible for marketing, trading, logistics and after-sales service. One of the sources said that TikTok's goal is to increase the total value of goods from less than $5 billion registered in 2022 to $20 billion in 2023 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 143.8 billion yuan).

Recently, TikTok also launched a beta version of music streaming platform TikTok Music, which competes with Spotify and Apple Music. In addition, the platform also adds a plain text sticker function that allows users to choose background colors, music and stickers, as well as edit the appearance of the text.
