DS224 + BWH is about 165x108x232.2mm in size and 1.3kg in weight; it is equipped with Intel Celeron J4125 processor and 2 GB DDR4 non-ECC memory to support up to 6GB memory (2 GB + 4 GB); it can hold 2 hard drives inside and supports hot-swappable.

Officials say DS224+ is 52% faster in Synology Drive for file indexing and 28% faster for Synology Photos image indexing, making it better to run high-load applications. In addition, the Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system on DS224 + uses a high-level Btrfs file system to protect data from corruption and to undo accidental or malicious changes by using snapshot technology.

In terms of interface, DS224 + comes with 2 USB-An interfaces, 2 wired network ports and security keyholes.
