CTOnews.com, July 27 (Xinhua)-- following the announcement of the cockpit layout a few days ago, MINI today released details of the interior of its new pure electric model, the Cooper EV, which still revolves around this "unique" circular central control screen.

MINI officially announced that the 9.44-inch round screen, the industry's first display of its kind using OLED technology, will be equipped with BMW's MINI Operating System 9 vehicle system based on the AOSP open source project.

The new car removes the traditional dashboard structure and replaces it with a HUD head-up display. In addition, the circular central control screen provides charging optimization route planning, as well as 3D maps, 5G connections and AI-based views. The car-machine system provides three "experience modes", namely Core,Green and Go-Kart. Judging from the official pictures, this central control screen also has a large number of preset themes with different styles to choose from, which will focus on personalization.

As for voice assistants, MINI has recently launched a car voice system, "Spike", which can control navigation, telephone, radio and air conditioning functions through voice commands. The new car will also support OTA remote upgrades, and various types of App can be downloaded through the mall, such as go-kart simulation games and streaming music player software Spotify.

In addition, MINI will provide what it calls "unparalleled" sound for the new car: simulated sound inside and outside the car, exclusive sound effects for different experience modes, and 30 informational and warning tones.

CTOnews.com previously reported that the new MINI COOPER EV pure electric car is expected to go on sale in 2024, will also enter domestic sales, and is expected to carry out local production.
