CTOnews.com, July 27 (Xinhua)-- Sony Group's gaming division said Thursday that its PlayStation 5 console has sold more than 40 million units. The company said supply chain problems have been alleviated, allowing inventory to meet market demand.

Jim Ryan, chief executive of Sony Interactive Entertainment (Sony Interactive Entertainment), wrote in a blog post: "it took several months for the supply chain to return to normal so that we could have enough inventory to meet the demand. Now that the supply of PS5 is sufficient, we have seen that previously pent-up demand has finally been met."

CTOnews.com noted that Sony also expects to sell 25 million PS5 hosts this year, which will be the highest in the history of PlayStation devices.
