After thawing the worm in a laboratory environment, Shatilovich and his team conducted a radiocarbon analysis of the plant material in the cave and found that the frozen sediment 40 meters below the surface was from the late Pleistocene (Pleistocene), about 45,839 to 47769 years ago.

If this discovery is accepted by its peers, it will break the Cryptobiosis record.
