AAC technology releases ultra-small MEMS speaker SOPRANO, suitable for real wireless headphones

CTOnews.com July 28, AAC today announced the launch of a landmark innovative product, the ultra-small MEMS loudspeaker tweeter unit SOPRANO, with a package size of only 16.2mm ³, which may be the smallest MEMS speaker unit in the industry.

SOPRANO is based on PZT thin film piezoelectric technology, the diaphragm and the driving structure are integrated, and is fabricated by pure MEMS process. In terms of acoustic performance, SOPRANO has excellent high-band extensibility, can be easily extended to more than 40kHz, in line with Hi-Res certification.

Officials said that AAC SOPRANO perfectly meets the application requirements of TWS headset scenarios in terms of product shape, size, performance and reliability, providing more flexibility and convenience for TWS manufacturers in headset design, stacking and assembly, and providing end users with a higher quality audio experience.

In terms of performance, SOPRANO can easily achieve SPL ≥ 100dB @ 6kHz~40kHz performance under 1Vrms drive voltage. This technological breakthrough means that without PA amplification, high-fidelity high-pitched audio can be achieved only with the direct drive of the existing TWS headset Bluetooth chip, which greatly reduces the application threshold of the new MEMS loudspeaker technology.
