Ford will recall 870000 Fmuri 150 trucks in the United States due to unexpected start of parking brakes.

CTOnews.com, July 29 (Xinhua)-- Ford Motor has submitted documents to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to recall 870000 Fmurl 150 trucks, covering 2021-2023 models, Reuters reported. Ford said the rear axle housing could damage the wire harness, causing the electric parking brake to start unexpectedly.

CTOnews.com learned from Reuters that Ford said it had received 918 warranty claims and three on-site reports of wire wear in North America, and that there were 299 incidents of accidental start-up of electric parking brakes, 19 of which occurred while driving. Ford said it was not clear about the crashes or injuries related to the recall. The distributor will install protective straps, wire harness tape packages and replace seat belts as needed.
