Gurman: the price of iPhone 15 will go up "slightly", especially in the Pro / Pro Max version

CTOnews.com July 30, Bloomberg Mark Gurman reiterated recent reports on iPhone 15 pricing. Gurman said the price of the iPhone 15 series will increase "slightly", especially the iPhone 15 Pro / Pro Max, which will feature a new titanium fuselage design and an upgraded camera system.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max screens will adopt a new technology: low injection pressure coating molding, which Apple calls "LIPO". The new process, which reduces the frame size of the display to 1.5mm (currently 2.2mm), is used for the first time in Apple Watch Series 7 to make the frame thinner and the display larger, and iPad will be introduced in the future.

For Apple Watch,Gurman, chip specifications for Series 9 and Ultra are expected to improve, but there will be no SE this year. Gurman said Apple tested dark gray titanium colors on Apple Watch Ultra last year, but it was cancelled at launch, and dark gray is expected to be added to the Ultra version this year.

It is understood that Apple expects to ship about 85 million iPhone 15 units this year, roughly the same as the iPhone 14 in the same period last year. Tim Long, an analyst at Barclays in the UK, had predicted that the price of iPhone 15 Pro would be $100 higher than that of iPhone 14 Pro and that iPhone 15 Pro Max would be $100 to $200 more expensive than iPhone 14 Pro Max.
