CTOnews.com, July 31, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple has no plans to release a third-generation Apple Watch SE this year. Gurman said in today's Power On newsletter that Apple Watch SE will maintain a two-year upgrade cycle, so the third-generation model is expected to be released in September 2024.

Apple Watch SE 2022 this means that for users considering buying a second-generation Apple Watch SE, the second-generation Apple Watch SE should still be able to continue to buy, as the device will not be updated for more than a year and its life cycle is still long.

CTOnews.com noted that the first two generations of Apple Watch SE were launched in September 2020 and September 2022, respectively. The Apple Watch SE is the most affordable Apple Watch, but lacks some of the features of high-end Apple Watch models, including electrocardiogram applications, blood oxygen applications, always bright displays and wrist temperature measurements. The frame is also wider than the Apple Watch Series 7 and newer models, and the optional size is smaller.

Gurman said Apple will launch two sizes of Apple Watch Series 9 and the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra this year. Gurman also revealed that Apple tested a dark titanium version of the Apple Watch Ultra last year, but did not release it.
