Tesla acquired Wiferion, a German wireless charging company, at a cost of US $7600.
CTOnews.com news on August 1, according to German media Teslamag, Tesla bought German wireless charging company Wiferion for as much as $76 million (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 543 million yuan), and the footer of the website now shows "Tesla Engineering German GmbH 2023", confirming Tesla as the parent company.
Wiferion says it focuses on "contactless charging and energy systems" to provide inductive charging solutions for self-driving transportation systems in warehousing and other industrial environments.
After the acquisition, the company listed charging, battery systems and cableless "intelligent robot charging" as products and called itself "the industry's leading provider of automated, contactless energy transmission".
It is worth mentioning that Musk announced the master plan on Tesla Investor Day, and Rebecca Tinucci, the global head of charging infrastructure, proposed potential wireless charging solutions for homes and workplaces.
