Microsoft Teams already supports space audio, but Bluetooth headsets cannot be used.

This makes it easier for users to understand who is talking, better understand the content when multiple people are talking at the same time, and reduce meeting fatigue and cognitive burden.

CTOnews.com noted that Apple has previously supported spatial audio in FaceTime, but Microsoft Teams does not support Bluetooth headsets. Microsoft said that due to protocol restrictions, Bluetooth devices are not currently supported, and users need to use wired headphones or laptops with stereo capabilities to enjoy space audio. If the user's wireless headset is connected through a USB receiver, it is also possible to use spatial audio, and only a pure Bluetooth device is temporarily unavailable.

Microsoft said it will support the next-generation LE Audio protocol in the future, which will enable Bluetooth devices to achieve stereo sound. LE Audio is a new Bluetooth audio standard, which needs to be supported by source devices and audio accessories. At present, some headphones of Samsung, Sony, Yijia, EarFun and other brands support LE Audio. In May this year, Windows 11 also added support for Bluetooth LE. As a result, Microsoft Teams's space audio is expected to be compatible with some Bluetooth devices in the coming months.
