CTOnews.com, Aug. 3, according to Sky News, Disney recently announced that it will stop selling DVD and Blu-ray discs in Australia due to low sales and the impact of streaming media.

Disney said that the Guardians of the Galaxy movie Blu-ray Disc, launched this month, was the last physical release in Australia, while the previously released DVD would continue to be available and would not be restocked when sold out.

Disney said the adjustment would apply to many film studios such as Marvel and 20th Century Fox. This means that if Australian fans want to continue to buy physical CDs, they will need to go through international retailers.

CTOnews.com inquired about social media, and some fans expressed regret over the Disney news, saying it marked "the end of an era."
