SAIC-Volkswagen announces recall of more than 83000 Polo Plus 1.5L and Tougai 1.5L vehicles
CTOnews.com news on August 4, according to the announcement of the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration today, SAIC Volkswagen Motor Co., Ltd. in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products, filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, and decided to recall the following vehicles from August 4, 2023:
Part of the 2020-2022 Polo Plus 1.5L produced during the period from October 12, 2020 to March 17, 2022, totaling 57659.
Some of the 2020-2022 T-CROSS 1.5L vehicles produced during the period from October 12, 2020 to March 25, 2022, totaling 25838.
Among the 83497 vehicles recalled this time, due to the deviation of the supplier's production process, the gap between the fuel pump impeller and the impeller shell is small, the surface roughness of the impeller is larger, and gasoline sediment is easy to accumulate between the fuel pump impeller and the impeller shell, resulting in poor rotation of the impeller and poor operation of the fuel pump, which in extreme cases may lead to the loss of power of the vehicle and the existence of safety risks.
SAIC-Volkswagen said it would replace the improved fuel pump for vehicles within the recall area free of charge to eliminate safety risks.
