CTOnews.com, August 4 (Xinhua)-- Capcom recently announced that a remade version of "biochemical Evil 2" launched in 2019 has become the best-selling game in the series.

Capcom recently released its results for the second quarter of 2023, saying that sales of "biochemical Evil 2" remake have exceeded 12.6 million copies, surpassing "biochemical Evil 7" (which has sold 12.4 million copies) to become the best-selling game in the series.

Capcom also said 4.9 million copies of the remake of Biohazard 4, launched earlier this year, have been sold; the series has sold more than 146m units worldwide.

Capcom did not say when the next "biochemical Evil" game would be released, and CTOnews.com reported in June that it had launched a questionnaire asking players which games they would like to see remade, so Capcom is planning a new remake.

Bloomberg reporter Takashi Mochizuki claimed on Twitter that Japanese game maker Capcom has confirmed that it will launch a "hitherto undisclosed" game within the current fiscal year (as of March 2024). Moreover, the game will "sell millions of sets".
